ABOUT US

Bonnybrook Early Education Centre was originally set up in 1974, by a group of local care workers who saw the need for a local service to support families and children in the Bonnybrook area. The original voluntary committee comprised of representatives of the local health care team, the local national school, the parish, two community representatives and the service director. It was decided that the service would comprise of education through play, under the supervision of qualified staff and that it would provide full and part day care including meals.

Bonnybrook Early Education Centre currently employs a Centre Manager, Deputy Manager, five full time Early Years’ Teachers and one part-time Teacher. Many of our staff hold a BA in Early Childhood Care & Education qualification. We also employ a receptionist, two Cooks, Cook Assistant, two part time Housekeepers and a maintenance person. We cater for up to a maximum of sixty-eight children, with staff to child ratio of 1/11 in our ECCE session and one-eighth in our part time session. We have five sessions per week and offer the Free Pre-school year in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) scheme / National Childcare Scheme (NCS) to eligible children. Bonnybrook E.E.C. is one of 12 Tusla Child & Family agency funded early years services in designated disadvantaged areas of Dublin.

A voluntary board of management governs the service and audited accounts are submitted each year to Tusla Child & Family Agency.
